Eight years after the death of label boss and Granada Reports host Wilson, actors, artists and musicians have come together to remember the North West icon and raise cash for The Christie hospital, where he lost his battle with cancer.

Skinny Dog Records have recorded a single and video tribute to Wilson, immortalised in the film 24 Hour Party People, based around poet Mike Garry’s St. Anthony: An Ode to Anthony H. Wilson.

Filmed at the Sharp Project, the video features Garry performing his poem with help from Steve Coogan, Shaun Ryder, Christopher Eccleston, Richard Madeley, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Mark Radcliffe, John Cooper Clarke, Iggy Pop and others.

There will be a launch party at the old Granada Studios from 7pm to 2am tomorrow night.

Garry will lead an ensemble performing live, alongside guest DJs – including Clint Boon – and a video screening, including exclusive interview footage. Tickets from £13.50, see www.stanthony.tickets/
