Jelly’s Last Jam dominated the Preston scene for almost five years, from 2005 until the end of 2009.

In that time, they shared stages with some huge names, including Everything Everything, the James Taylor Quartet and Mumford and Sons.

But, when they called it a day, they never staged a farewell show. So three years on, they return for a final farewell at their old stamping ground, The Mad Ferret, this Saturday, with another reunited city band, Los Vencidos.

And the show is opened by Johnny 5th Wheel frontman Richard Lomax, who also played their first gig.

Singer Paul Byrne said: “For one last time, and for the absolute hell of it, we are going to revive the old dog that is Jelly’s Last Jam.

“We had an absolute blast. But unfortunately when it all ended in 2009, rather than go out with a big bang, we just quietly bowed out to a whimper. So in our madness and pissed-up nostalgia, we decided do it one more time, have that last jam - and go out with a bang!”

Doors open at 8pm and entry is free.
