Boasting everything from live vocal artists to bands, choirs, a classical soprano and a Samba percussion troupe, there’s sure to be something for everyone at Penwortham Live! 2014.

Kicking off on Friday, more than 180 live acts will take to the stage at 22 different venues across the town and here we bring you a full rundown of what’s happening where.

Performing everything from rock, pop, jazz, Indie, Blues and even comedy folk, talented performers will grace pubs, restaurants, cafes, churches, cake shops, Penwortham Library and even a gym.

There is also set to be Regency dancing, afternoon tea and fun for the kiddies throughout.

More than 2,000 people flocked to the first festival last year and 2014 is expected to be an even bigger success with 4,000 wristbands already distributed and more available to buy throughout the weekend.

They cost £5 each and that covers entry to all of the different events and acts over the two days.

Children of primary school age and under go free as long as they are accompanied by a wristband-wearing parent.

The festival, which showcases the best of local talent, is funded by South Ribble Council’s Penwortham My Neighbourhood Forum and is organised in conjunction with musician Nigel Stewart and volunteers from Penwortham community groups and businesses.
