Baton record could be towering achievement

The Blackpool Tower Circus is setting itself up for a day of clowning around with two of its legendary acts, ahead of the fifth World Circus Day next week.

Held annually on the third Saturday of April, World Circus Day is a special event to celebrate circus arts and culture.

In honour of the day, and to celebrate Blackpool Tower’s 120th birthday, the most loved clowns in the circus – Mooky and Mr Booo – will be attempting to successful complete 120 baton throws in 120 seconds!

The baton challenge and more is today from 10am, and this is just one of the exciting events planned to celebrate this landmark occasion, with a host of competitions and activities at the Tower throughout the year.

The Blackpool Tower Circus show, Mooky Goes to Hollywood, is masterminded by the famous Laci Endresz Senior and family, and will run until November 9.

Showcasing astonishing acrobats, daredevil stunts and hilarious comedy antics, this is the must-see circus show of 2014.
