This year, a fun-filled adaptation of Snow White will entertain families.

And amateur dramatics group CADOS is on the lookout for people to play the key roles, including that of Snow White herself, her wicket stepmother, the mirror and the seven dwarves.

Auditions take place at the theatre on Dole Lane from 1-3pm this Sunday, September 15.

Good comic timing is required, while an ability to improvise is helpful but not essential.

Singing and dancing is needed for all main parts.

All lead characters (apart from the dwarves) will be played by actors aged over 16.

As well as the story’s better known roles, characters including Dame Flagella, who runs the royal household, slapstick duo Hodgit and Bodgit, and King Copernicus, Snow White’s absent-minded father, are also central to the plot.

Decisions on the sex of different roles may depend on who auditions.

There are 19 roles up for grabs, plus dancers and guards.

Audiences can expect a traditional festive panto full of jokes and slapstick comedy.

Performances will take place daily at 7.30pm from Friday, December 13 until Saturday, December 21, except on Monday, December 16, when there will be no performance.

There will also be weekend matinees at 2.30pm on Saturday, December 14, Sunday, December 15 and Saturday, December 21.

Since 1960 the Little Theatre has been owned and operated CADOS, which has been putting on high-quality productions for more than 75 years.
