The park’s holiday theatre season, which runs until Monday, August 26, begins today with two afternoon performances Lewis Carroll’s tale of Alice in Wonderland (right).

It’s the first of five shows from Pendle Productions’ offshoot, The Storytellers Theatre Company, to entertain families throughout the holidays.

On August 5, the tale of Pinnocchio arrives at the park with Tales From The Gypsy Caravan on August 12, Tom Sawyer on August 19 and The Wind in the Willows on Monday August 26 with The Wind in the Willows.

The performances, which will take place on the lawn next to the Worden Park Arts Centre, will each be preceded by an hour long workshop on all sorts of theatre techniques, free to children with tickets to the show. Tickets are £7, with one adult free with every two child tickets, on 01253 839375.
