From July 4-August 16, audiences will follow Hansel and Gretel through the park where they will re-discover a collection of time honoured tales performed by a cast of familiar Dukes faces and newcomers.

Ulverston-based writer Zosia Wand has intertwined the central story of Hansel & Gretel with other characters from popular children’s tales, who the audience will meet as the action moves from one location to another around the Edwardian park.

The Dukes director Joe Sumsion said: “Our outdoor walk-about shows are about creating magic moments and there will be plenty to enjoy in our production of Hansel & Gretel And More Tales From The Forest.

“Hansel & Gretel is perfect summertime fun for all the family and, as it’s a story of the woods, Williamson Park is the ideal setting. As for the ‘More Tales’ – we’ll meet some great characters along the way, too: a vegetarian wolf still tempted by children with red riding hoods, Rumpelstiltskin and his golden thread, even a good fairy who’s managed to lose her Sleeping Beauty.”
