Preston’s high street has changed a great deal over the years.
These are just some of the shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions that we have loved and lost in the city:
5. The Sumners
The favourite pub for Preston North End fans on matchdays where they would gather before and after games at Deepdale. But in recent years custom began to decline and that spelled the end for the pub after just 33 years in 2018. Photo: Kelvin Stuttard
7. Our Price

8. Rumbelows
High Street chain Rumbelows closed down in 1995 when it fell victim to the growing number of out-of-town superstores selling a bigger range of electrical goods. The Rumbelows in Preston was found in the Fishergate Centre. Photo: Archive
