Old Holly Farm, which opened in 2007 on Cabus Nook Lane in Garstang announced this morning it would remain as a working family dairy farm, but would not reopen its doors to the public as a visitor attraction.

The decision came as a result of the family reflecting on what they could manage during the pandemic, they said.

Before the lockdown, Old Holly Farm opened to the public in conjunction with remaining as a working dairy farm, offering the chance for children to meet the animals, alongside a playbarn and cafe.

The farm also ran themed events during holidays, including Halloween and Christmas.

In their announcement, owners Alison and Ian Pye said: "We have always been proud of being both a working organic dairy farm, all whilst opening our farm up with our visitor attraction on site.

"Covid-19 has had an impact on everyone's lives, and during the last 12 months it has given us the chance to reflect and take stock of what we are trying to manage as a family.

"Therefore we have made the incredibly difficult decision that we will not be reopening once the third national lockdown ends.

"We would like to thank everyone who has supported us since we opened in 2007, we have always been blown away by your loyalty.

"We would also like to say a special thank you to our team, both past and present, who have been on this journey with us for the past 13+ years, you are simply amazing."

Any unspent vouchers for the farm should be posted to Old Holly Farm, Cabus, Garstang, PR3 1AA with a contact number before March 19.
