A spokesman said: “We are bitterly disappointed to have to take this course of action, but feel an early decision is in everybody’s best interests, given the current situation facing the country and the uncertainty of what the upcoming months may hold.”

The event is proudly one of Lancashire’s premier summer tourism days out.

The spokesman said: “Given the overwhelming success of our 2019 event, which was shortlisted in the category of Event of the Year at the Lancashire Tourism Awards, and the cancellation in 2020, we were so excited for what we were due to bring you for 2021.

“We had considered the possibility of moving the event to later in the year, but logistically this was very difficult, and the ongoing uncertainty of when the situation might return to normal means planning is impossible.

“We are already working hard to deliver the best Open Day and Country Fair we have ever produced next year. The date for your diary is Sunday, June 12 2022.”

A large number of people who purchased a ticket for 2020, rolled them over. If you wish to roll over your ticket again, you do not need to do anything. If you want a refund email [email protected] with your name and email address that you ordered your tickets with.
