A peep over the garden gates

For Arthur and Vivienne Massey-Fairhurst, creating their garden has been a labour of love.

When they decided to move to The Barn on The Green at Inglewhite, one of the attractions was the one and a quarter acres of land, which was just a field when they arrived.

Over the years they have tamed it, creating garden “rooms” – some secluded and others with panoramic views.

The garden has areas to sit and relax in and is full of unusual features, including a specially created river bed.

The garden will be open as part of the charity fund-raising National Gardens Scheme from 11am to 4pm on Saturday June 8. Admission is £4.50, with children admitted free.

The garden is between Preston and Garstang. Parking will be available at the neighbouring Green Man pub and at Inglewhite Chapel.
