Theatre group the St James Players bring the classic fairytale Little Red Riding Hood to life – but you’ll have to be quick if you don’t want to miss out on this highly entertaining show

Little Red Riding Hood will be performed at St James Church Hall, Avondale Drive, Lostock Hall tonight at 7.30pm and twice on Saturday with a matinee at 2pm and an evening show at 7.30pm.

The cast of 12 principles and 14 chorus members have been in rehearsals since August, building scenery, learning lines and practicing routines ready to bring the tale of the woodcutter, grandma and the lady herself to life.

And what is Little Red Riding Hood without the Big Bad Wolf himself?

The principle cast and chorus are drawn from a wide age range, with the youngest just eight-years-old and the eldest a sprightly 71.

With Kevin Culshaw taking a lead role as the ever-present pantomime dame, Malaria Merry, Red Riding Hood is played by Rebecca Wilson and the BBW is brought to life by Angela Ross.

The audience’s boos and hisses can be directed at Marjorie Hoosen who, as well as producing the show, takes in the baddie’s role of Lady Jasmine De Vile
