When it comes to food – takeaways in particular – when I find something I like I stick to it.

So for many months my better half and I have ordered our Indian takeaway from the same place week in and week out. We are almost certainly on first name terms with the chap who answers the phone.

To find some inspiration on somewhere new we had a look online and decided to go for Curry Link in Bamber Bridge.

We ordered online at around 6.30pm, were told food would be with us by 7.30pm and were delighted when it came at about 7pm. The added touch of a text message from the takeaway saying the food was en route was appreciated.

We ordered a mixed starter to share (£4.50) it included a selection of delicious meat, an onion bhaji, a samosa and a side salad. It was restaurant quality and we were both impressed.

For mains I went for a Chicken Bhuna (£4.30). This is my usual choice, but not everywhere gets it right and I’m pleased to report Curry Link did. It was packed with flavour and the portion was really good. I had enough for lunch the next day.

My co-diner was pleased to be able to order any curry he wanted and not be limited by me – the one who doesn’t want anything too spicy when we share. He went for a Chicken Tikka Rogan Josh (£4.80) and I’d say him finishing before me and starting the washing up meant it went down a treat!

With our mains we shared boiled rice (£1.30), chips (£1) and a chapati (75p). I don’t think anywhere really goes wrong with the side orders and Curry Link was no exception. The chapati was perfect for mopping up.

It’s safe to say the menu will be going in the kitchen drawer and it might be time to alternate from our favourite place now and then. Full marks from two happy customers.
