The Lancashire village had a Fourth of July field day to remember with a colourful procession headed by Coppull and Standish brass band.

But royalty was definitely on the VIP list. Cockerham’s new and retiring Queens were joined by visiting queens from Forton, Scorton and St Michael’s on Wyre.

Louisa Glen was crowned by retiring Rose Queen Issie Lawson after the procession. Now Louisa and her retinue Georgia Arber, Libby Brindle, Gina Hewitt, Ffion McGregor, Phoebe Hudson-Duncan, ack Barton, Charlie Dingle and Thomas Glennow hope to represent Cockerham at many of the local events and Field days overthe coming year.

Field Day Presidents Bill Hewitt and Helen Melling judged the floats and fancy dress and officially opened the Field day.

The crowds were entertained by a fantastic motorbike display by Inch Perfect Trials and afterwards local school pupils danced around the maypole.

John Gornall brought a Penny Farthing bicycle along to demonstrate and let children have a try at riding.
