CHRISTIAN sports organisation Sportsreach held their seventh annual netball tournament at Garstang High School.
More than 20 teams took part and there were over 300 supporters.
There were teams from three age groups: Junior, Novice and Main.
There were 4 teams in the Junior category: Great Eccleston, Westhouse Warriors, Garstang Pearls and the eventual winners of the group, Chipping Kittens.
In the Novice category, Brookhouse Methodist, Caton Baptist, Carnforth F.M, Gt Eccleston and Newbiggin-on-lune battled it out, until only two were left.
In the Final, Carnforth and Brookhouse both played well, but it was Brookhouse who emerged victorious after defeating their opponents 3-0.
After these age groups had played, there was a short break in which trophies for the Juniors and Novices were awarded, and Sue Marsden read from one of the Gospels.
Afterwards, the main event took place, the tournament of the aptly-named Main category.
It was much tougher for the teams in this category as there were eleven teams competing.
They were Westhouse, Garstang , Crown Lane, Bentham, Quernmore, Chipping Wild Cats, Chipping Meerkats, Chipping Top Cats, Capernwray Spots, Capernwray Stripes and All Saints.
These teams played each other in 14 minute matches, and out of the 11, Garstang and the Chipping Top Cats made it through to the Grand Final.
Both teams played brilliantly, but it wasn’t Chipping who ended up being Top Cats - as Garstang ended up winning the match 10-5.
The organisers would like to thank the teams and their supporters, the excellent umpires and the many others who helped the day run smoothly.
