Garstang swimming pool looks set to get a £105,000 revamp.
The renovation would see new changing rooms – which haven’t been updated for almost 40 years.
Wyre Council has applied to Sport England, in conjunction with Fylde Coast YMCA, for a grant – and if succesful Wyre Council will matched the £52,500 contribution.
And Michael Harrison, senior marketing manager at the YMCA, says the revamp is “well overdue”.
He said: “The changing rooms really needed modernising.
“Some parts haven’t been changed since the 1970s.
“One of the main consequences we hope to get out of this is to get more people swimming, at all ages.”
The council will find out in May whether the bid has been successful.
