A live music night for Miss England charity challenge

MISS England competitor Elizabeth Grant is inviting people to attend a free live music event in Preston.

The 20-year-old, who was crowned Miss Preston earlier this year, has organised entertainment at Glovers Bar, Clovers Court, on Saturday, from 7pm.

All money raised will go towards Miss England’s chosen charity Beauty With A Purpose, which works with disadvantaged and disabled children and other worthwhile causes worldwide.

Entertainment consists of five of Preston’s top DJs including her DJ/Producer brother Chris Grant, a saxophonist, a percussionist plus a live performance from a talent Preston duo Curtis Haley and Benni Caesar.

In the popularity section Elizabeth, of Ribbleton, is in tenth place out of 48 contestants on the text vote. To vote text: Miss England12 to 63333. Each vote costs 50p. People can also visit www.facebook.com/missenglandnews, like and share her photo.

She will now go up against 49 other hopefuls at the final in Southport on July 20/21. The winner will claim a prize worth £25,000 and go through to the Miss World Final in Indonesia.

Elizabeth has dedicated her year as Miss Preston to raising cash for Derian House Children’s Hospice, which cared for her sister, former Little Miss Lancashire Evening Post Melanie Grant, who died of a brain tumour in 2001 aged 12.
