All eyes on the skies over Lancashire for Bonfire Night
Hundreds of families wrapped up warm to enjoy spectacular firework displays, bonfires and treacle toffee.
One of the first events was held at Euxton Cricket Club, near Chorley, and was organised by the team behind Chorley Carnival.

Hide AdAs well as two firework displays and a bonfire, Tuesday’s event included a fun fair, refreshments and a bar.
Paul Wilkins, carnival chairman, said between 500 and 1,000 people attended and money raised for the carnival and cricket club is still being counted.
He added: “The event was a success. It was a nice dry night and there were lots of happy faces.”
Among the biggest events held last night - Bonfire Night - were firework displays and bonfires at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Football Club, Pear Tree Park in Penwortham, Bartle Hall in Preston and Lancashire Fire And Rescue Service’s training centre in Euxton.

Hide AdLeyland Round Table held their 45th annual event at Worden Park in Leyland and Longton Community Church organised their 19th firework display at Longton Victory Memorial Recreation Ground.
There is still time to enjoy the Bonfire Night festivities, with events continuing into the weekend. Chorley Council is holding a free event at Astley Park tonight. It starts at 6.30pm, with the bonfire being sparked up at 7pm and fireworks beginning at 7.30pm.
Red Bank Scouts are organising their 37th annual bonfire and fireworks display at Duxbury Jubilee Park in Chorley tomorrow. Gates open at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and fireworks with music start at 7.15pm. Admission is free.
The Lancaster fireworks spectacular takes place on Saturday as part of the Light Up Lancaster weekend.

Hide AdThe two-day festival starts today mainly around Market Square, but the main viewing areas for the fireworks are Quay Meadow and Giant Axe. Free wristbands for those areas are available from Lancaster and Morecambe Visitor Information Centre.
Other places recommended to view the fireworks include Williamson Park and Salt Ayre Sports Centre.
And in Garstang, a bonfire and fireworks display will be held tomorrow on the community centre’s car park on High Street. The bonfire will spark up at 7pm and the fireworks start at 7.30pm.
