Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Martin Young, said, “The cooler conditions will continue through the weekend and for some it’ll certainly feel quite different to what we’ve been used to this summer.

“The mornings especially will be quite chilly with temperatures locally in single figures and some of us in rural areas may even have a touch of frost overnight.”

Today

Highs of: 14C

Lows of: 10C

Today will be considerably cooler, with a peak temperature of around 14C. There will be a mixture of heavy and light showers, with some sunny intervals and periods of cloud. The temperature will then begin to dip at around 22:00.

Saturday, August 25

Lows of: 11C

Another day of sunny spells and light, scattered showers, but the showers will ease during the day.

Winds will be lighter and, although cool, it will feel pleasant in the sunshine. Maximum temperature of 16C.

Sunday, August 26

Highs of: 16C

Wet and windy weather is expected on Sunday, with a maximum temperature of around 16C.

The rain will be considerably heavier throughout Sunday afternoon and it will be overcast for most of the day.

Monday is then set to be overcast throughout most of the day, with a maximum temperature of 16C.
