A section of the A6 is closed in both directions due to flooding.
Lancashire police confirmed that the A6 in Carnforth is closed in both directions between the Pine Lakes Roundabout and the Waitholme Lane junction because of flooding.
The flood and subsequent closure - that police say will be in place for the foreseeable future - is causing disruption between the A601 J35A Carnforth and Waitholme Lane, Yealand.
A spokesman for the police said: “The road is closed due to flooding and surface water problems.
“There is nowhere for the water to go, it is not draining.
“There are signs up to let people know.
“Highways England are at the scene and the closure will be in place for the foreseeable future.”
