A SCORTON man has died after being slashed across the neck with a broken bottle at a celebrity party.
Telecoms worker Phil Sherriff, 37, died in a London hospital yesterday (Sunday) morning with his wife, Jane, at his bedside.
He had suffered horrific injuries after being stabbed just seconds after pop star Jessie J had finished her set at an invitation-only event hosted by smartphone giant Blackberry, at the Pulse nightclub in Southwark, central London.
Ashley Charles, 25, of Leicester, was remanded in custody on Saturday before Mr Sherriff’s death, charged over the attack, which the Metropolitan Police are now investigating as murder.
Father-of-two Mr Sherriff had previously worked for mobile phone networks O2 and 3 and was now working closely with Blackberry.
