The Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade in Longridge celebrated their end of term with a presentation night and show.
The Senior Corps had been working for several weeks putting together dances, whilst the Martins and the Y Team performed dances.
Another section played an Abba piece.
Badges and special presentations were made to all the children, with a number receiving special awards for 100% attendance at brigade nights and church parade.
The evening finished with a surprise presentation made to Captain David Hartley.
John Jolly, a friend of David’s and an ex-Brigade leader from Chorley said David was “well respected, has continually supported the work of the Brigade both locally and nationally and is also involved with the church and primary school, where his incredible handyman skills are greatly appreciated, David is devoted to maintaining the standards of the Brigade and yet is always willing to accept change if it is for the greater good of the organisation!”
David was presented with the Brigade Officer’s Service medal – one of the highest awards that is granted by the Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade.
