Four Lancashire firms shortlisted for Rural Business Awards 2018

Lancashire has been handed a major trade boost with four firms from the county shortlisted in a prestigious awards scheme showcasing the very best in British rural enterprise.

A brewery, a design agency, a drop-in nursing scheme for farmers and a valued community shop are the Lancashire businesses honoured in this year’s Rural Business Awards (RBAs).

Now in their fourth year, the RBAs are the only UK-wide business awards specifically for the rural sector. Sponsored by Amazon, the scheme has been a huge success since it started with the first award ceremony held in 2015. The four shortlisted businesses will now go on to the regional finals to be held at a glittering ceremony on October 9 at Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa in Bolton.

Farm Yard Ales Ltd – shortlisted for Best Rural Drink Business.

Farm Yard Ales is a diversification business based on the family farm of Steven Holmes in the rural village of Cockerham.

Farm Creative Ltd – shortlisted for Best Rural Creative or Media Based Business

Farm Creative Ltd of Bilsborrow is a marketing, design and digital agency working from a converted shipping container on a fully working farm in Lancashire. The business works with rural clients to create successful marketing strategies, brands and designs that deliver profitable results

Field Nurse – shortlisted for Social Enterprise, Charity or Community Project of the Year

Field Nurse is a pilot rural health drop in service providing qualified nurses in Gisburn, Clitheroe and Brock Auction Markets to tackle the physical and mental health risks associated with rural isolation.

Crown Leisure Services Ltd, or “The Shop at Glasson Dock” – shortlisted for Best Rural Retail Business Ltd.
