A local lawyer travelled 6,000 miles to speak to more than 130 international delegates at a global conference in Hong Kong.
John Chesworth, managing partner of Garstang-based commercial law firm Harrison Drury, spoke at the prestigious event to give an insight into doing business in the north west of England.
Held at the five-star InterContinental Hong Kong hotel, the gathering was aimed at developing cross border trade and sharing knowledge on the cultural differences of doing business in markets around the world.
The conference was organised by the Alliott Group, an international alliance of accounting, law and consulting firms of which Harrison Drury is the legal member covering the north west.
John said: “The conference provided us with a great opportunity to speak to other lawyers and accountants from firms in a number of countries in the Asia Pacific region, such as China, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, as well other global markets like the US and Mexico, Russia, the Middle East and Africa plus all the major Eurozone countries.
“For example, we learnt more about how to set up a trading company in many of the countries in the Asia Pacific region and the time scales involved in doing this.”
