Charity donations from Whittingham's beer and sausage festival
Organisers of the fifth annual Whittingham Sports and Social Club Sausage and Beer Festival raised £15,000 for various causes.
A total of £1,000 was given to Rosemere Cancer Foundation, St Catherine’s Hospice and Bowland and Pennine Mountain Rescue.

Hide AdThe club’s festival committee also gave £500 to the organisers of the annual Whittingham and Goosnargh Whitsuntide Festival to help with staging costs and £200 to Field Nurse, which runs drop-in wellbeing clinics for rural communities. In addition, donations were made to the 1st Goosnargh Scout Group, Fulwood Club, Longridge Young Farmers’ Club and Jesters Motorcycle Club.

Tony Dixon, chairman of Whittingham Club and a member of the festival committee, said: “We had a very busy weekend. We are all about giving visitors choice and value for money. People know this, which ensures they come and that, together with the support of our sponsors to whom we’re very grateful, is how we’re able to help a number of local charities and causes.”
