Charity film contest will be judged by legend

Film students in Lancashire are being invited to enter a contest judged by legendary director Ken Loach.

National charity Meningitis UK, which merged with Meningitis Trust, is running the short film competition as part of their Beat It Now campaign.

Open to all students who are currently enrolled in, and studying, a film course at university or college in the UK, the entry requirements for the competition are to make a film from one to three minutes in length that conveys a powerful message about the importance of a vaccine for Meningitis B being introduced.

Sue Davie, chief executive, said “We’re hoping to get some really creative and powerful films from the competition. This is a great opportunity for film students to be involved in a real and highly important campaign, and for us to harness the incredible talent that exists in the UK.
