Barbara Lightfoot, 51, of Derwent Road, Chorley, was handed a community order with 100 hours unpaid work by Preston magistrates for assault by beating. The offence happened on October 5. She also had pay £85 victim surcharge, £100 compensation and £85 court costs.

Mark Roland Ellis, 51, of Broadgreen Close, Leyland, admitted driving a vehicle when the rear nearside wheel was fitted with a pneumatic tyre which had the ply or cord exposed when he appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court. The offence happened in Penwortham Way, on May 9. He was fined £142.00 and had to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. His driving record was endorsed with three points.

Thomas Riley, 26, of Rothwell Court, Leyland, drove a car and failed to comply with the indication given by a traffic sign. He was fined £40 by Preston magistrates, and had to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. His driving record was endorsed with three points.
