Crowds from Garstang and Longridge descended on Myerscough College campus for the popular Open Day & Country Fair.
The Bilsborrow site was buzzing and families enjoyed an action-packed fun day out, including the usual array of demonstrations, shows and interactive activities from the college’s many diverse subject areas as well as food, drink and entertainment.
The annual fair is now recognised as one of the biggest days out in Lancashire’s outdoor events calendar.
The day is also designed for prospective students to see the agricultural college at its best and chat with tutors and staff.
Highlights of the day included equestrian shows and demonstrations, motorsport and machinery displays, the agricultural shows and falconry demonstrations, photography and floral exhibitions, sports tournaments and children’s activities.
The agriculture and countryside zones and superb landscaped gardens also proved extremely popular by attracting many visitors.
Ann Turner, Chief Executive and Principal of Myerscough College, said: “The Open Day and Country
Fair this year was undoubtedly our best yet with all the feedback we have had being extremely positive. It’s always great to see happy smiling faces everywhere all over campus.’’
‘’The whole day was, yet again, an outstanding celebration of everything Myerscough and all that is best within our sector.
‘’It really was a tremendous event, and the campus looked great. The over-riding comment from the public was the atmosphere created and generated by the staff and students of Myerscough which made the whole place buzz.”
‘’‘The event is orchestrated by a small team of staff members but played out by so many on the day.
To everyone who took part in whatever way, a huge thank you.’’
