Couple who worked for the same firm met in a supermarket aisle

Despite working at the same company, Charlotte Livesey and Tom Moxham only actually clapped eyes on each other in the aisles of a supermarket.

Charlotte, a supplier manager from Fulwood, and Tom, a business analyst from Longridge, had worked for energy company Westinghouse for five and 10 years respectively.

Charlotte says, “It was only while we were both walking around Asda on a Thursday night that we saw each other.

“This became a deliberate occurrence and after a few weeks, Tom plucked up the courage to ask me out for a drink.”

A quiet drink at their local, the Black Bull, turned into downing shots of vodka in Preston until three in the morning, and, despite, their sore heads the following morning, the pair knew it was the start of something special.

After only eight months of dating, Tom knew he wanted Charlotte to be his wife and, as he took her out for a meal at Chinese restaurant, Yu and You in Blackburn on March 14, 2012, his sisters were helping to prepare the surprise.

“His four sisters decorated our living room with candles in the shape of a heart, a bottle of champagne, cake and rose petals scattered the floor,” says Charlotte.

On their return, Tom ushered Charlotte inside, quickly grabbing the engagement ring from inside a shoe on the shoe rack.

“I was in awe at the beautiful decorations when I opened the living room door,” says Charlotte .“When I turned around and saw Tom on one knee presenting me with the ring, I was in utter surprise.

“I said yes and started to cry - needless to say I had no idea.”

The couple were married at The Villa, Wrea Green, in a fairytale-themed wedding.

Table names were names of castles, music from the Twilight series played throughout the day and following the ceremony, pianist Peter Bennett, entertained their guests.

Even the couple’s Weimeraner, Duke, made a surprise visit in order to have his photo taken with the bride and groom.
