Man charged with rape after woman is attacked in Catterall

A 25-year-old has been charged with rape after a woman was attacked in Catterall at the weekend.

Police were called at around 3.50am on Saturday (December 19) after reports that a woman had been heard screaming near Tan Yard Road.

Officers rushed to the scene where they found a woman in her 20s who reported being attacked by a man who had since fled the area.

Following extensive enquiries, a local man was later arrested by police in connection with the incident.

After consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Connor Fearon, 25, of The Parklands, Catterall, has been charged with rape, sexual assault and threats to kill.

He is due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates' Court today (Monday, December 21).
