The drone team spotted the person, deemed high risk, 'submerged' on the banks of the river at around 10pm yesterday (February 5).

Police said it would not be confirming the identity of the person found, but said it is not missing 48-year-old Shaun Horan.

It is not clear what the force means by describing the person as 'submerged', but it confirmed that the person has been found alive.

Witnesses reported seeing the drone - a low-flying, flashing red light - in the sky around London Road, where a visible police presence was parked on the bridge near the Capitol Centre.

More police vehicles were parked by the riverbank, where officers were seen searching the area with torches.

A police spokesman said: "Given the person has now been found, there would be no policing purpose in releasing extra information."
