Four fire crews from Preston, Bamber Bridge and Fulwood rushed to the burning building in Navigation Way at around 6.45pm this evening (April 29).

Pictures from the scene show firefighters using two hose reels and an aerial ladder platform to tackle the flames as plumes of smoke fill the sky.

Around 30 firefighters from across Preston and South Ribble were sent to the scene, with crews battling the blaze for most of the night.

Baffito's is set for demolition in the near future with a state-of-the-art care home and apartment block to be built in its place.

Glenholme Wrightcare is behind the plans, with the care home expected to have 64 bedrooms and the apartment block to have 16 flats.
