A Myerscough College degree student has followed in his father’s footsteps by enrolling on the same course just a year after his dad.
Chris Boyle and his dad Phil both study a Foundation Degree in Motorsport Management & Logistics, with Phil on his second year and Chris his first.
The fast paced pair, from Chorley, are keen motor enthusiasts which made it the perfect course for them to study together.
Phil, 43, who previously worked in banking, chose to become a mature student at Myerscough after stumbling across the college at an event. He said: “I got made redundant a few years ago from Lloyds so was at a fork in my career and not sure what to do next.
“I’ve been into motorsport all my life and I was on a rally on the Isle of Man when I saw the Myerscough Escort that was competing in the event.
“When I got home and had a look online I saw that it was the thing I wanted to do and just went for it.’’
And like father like son, Chris decided that he too wanted to follow his passion.
Chris 19 said: “I was going to study art and design at university but after seeing the opportunities that my dad was given through his course, and after having always had an interest in motorsport,I decided to make the switch .”
