The Tithe Barn boating community are celebrating the success of a festive fundraiser, which brought the town together in memory of two stalwarts of Garstang Children Festival

The annual children’s party, now in it’s ninth year and held at the Owd Tithe Barn, off Church Street, collected more than £700. The money will be donated to this year’s Children Festival pot.

The event this year was in honour of Carl Bentley and Dave Gardner who both dedicated their time to ensure the success of the party and festival.

A number of Garstang businesses contributed to the prize tombola and the children’s gifts were donated by Garstang Aldi.

Organiser Kath Bentley said: “Once again the children’s party held at the Tithe Barn in December was a great success. All the children had a brilliant time and each one received a special gift from Santa due to the generosity of the ALDI area manager, Mark Lang-Yates who donated all the presents.”
