Heating oil supplier Emo Oil is offering 500 litres of heating oil to a worthy community project, charity, organisation or hospice, this autumn.
Emo Oil, which has a depot in Garstang, will welcome nominations for the free kerosene fuel for organisations in the Garstang area which currently use heating oil.
The closing date is November 8 and nominations should be sent to email firstname.lastname@example.org, describing the organisation nominated, with a brief description of why it should receive the free oil.
Full contact details of both nominator and nominee should also be included with the application.
Meanwhile Emo Oil, via its parent company Certas Energy, has linked up with charity Independent Age as its national charity partner.
They want to hear from individuals or organisations which might need a helping hand with fuel as the weather gets colder.
Independent Age is dedicated to helping older people live more fulfilling lives, particularly those who are struggling financially, are socially isolated or are in need of advice and information.
Its advice service and free written information is integrated with local support, including one-to-one and group befriending.
Independent Age says it can help address issues worsened by winter with advice about benefits, care and support available, including opportunities to increase social networks through befriending.
Charity chief executive Janet Morrison said: “We are working with the Certas Energy team to reach and help more older people and to help individuals feel connected with the local community.”
