Inspired ladies showed their flair for design and picked up a few new ideas at a special home event.

Members of Cabus WI teamed up with interior designer Emma Brindley at the event hosted by house-builder Redrow at Canal View, The Toppings in Garstang.

Designer Emma Brindley shared her insider tips on how to create the perfect show home to the group of 21 women.

Cabus WI’s president Eileen Smith said: “We all thoroughly enjoyed Emma’s talk and the tour of the show home, we’ve picked up so many good tips.

“One of our group headed straight off to buy some carpet with her newfound knowledge of interior design and another has passed on details of the development to her daughter.

It was a very slick event and we’re really grateful to Redrow for holding it for us.

The ladies were able to indulge in afternoon tea, after receiving a special tour of the show-home

Mrs Smith added: “The WI has been celebrating its centenary this year and although we are very proud of our traditions we also like to keep up with current trends so when Redrow offered us the opportunity to find out more about current interior design styles, we jumped at the chance. We loved the style of the show home and I’m sure we’ll all be implementing some of Emma’s tips very soon!”

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “It was fabulous having the WI at Canal View and showing off our product, it was a very enjoyable event for all of us and we’re pleased we could help them with their design queries. This kind of event is something we’d be keen to do at other developments too if other WI groups are interested.”
