Two Garstang cadets have been giving their detachment the runaround after they were selected to represent the county in the Regional Cross Country event.
Cadet Zac Clifton and corporal Lanna Young, both from the Garstang Detachment of the Lancashire Army Cadet Force, will now take part in the competition held in the village of Warcop in the Eden District of Cumbria.
They were selected after impressing at a county trials event last Sunday on what was a very cold January morning at Witton Park in Blackburn.
The competition sees teams from all over the North West racing to be crowned regional champions.
All competitors will be cadets from across the country and the winners will then go on to take part in the national competiton.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 15.
The Army Cadets is a voluntary youth organisation for 12 to 18 year-olds. They offer a wide range of activities including adventure training, kayaking, parachuting, archery, over-seas visits to other cadet forces and much more.
For anyone who would like more information on joining the cadets, you can go along to the detachment on Mondays and Thursdays at Garstang Community Academy on High Street between 7pm and 9pm.
