Garstang Community Academy English teacher Mrs Cudworth spelled out a challenge for Year 7 and Year 8 pupils to brush up on their words in aid of Children in Need.
The champion spellers had to learn 20 Christmas theme words for the sponsored spell-a-thon and managed to raise over £700 for the cause.
Mrs Cudworth said: “It was a fun way of both improving our pupils’ spelling and raising money for a great charity.
“We raised just over £500 last year and so it was amazing to see that we had raised over £700 this year.
“Thank you to all those who took part and of course to the many parents, family members and friends who sponsored the children and gave so generously”.
