Gemma leaped in to raise cash for Oaklands

YOUNG volunteer Gemma Slater presented the residents of Leonard Cheshire Disability Oaklands with a cheque for £250 following her tandem parachute jump at the Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham.

She raised £500 and divided the proceeds between Oaklands and Help for Heroes.

Gemma has been a volunteer at Oaklands for nearly four years, attending every week to work in the daycare centre.

Volunteer co-ordinator Joanne Berry said: “Gemma is a dedicated volunteer who regularly contributes so much to our service users. Raising this money for our service is just typical of the selfless nature that she shows.”
