Staff at a Scorton horse health business are celebrating after romping past the winning posts in the finals of a prestigious national business award.
Supplement Solutions beat hundreds of other specialist retailers across Britain to take first prize in the 2011 British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) Business Awards.
The announcement was made at a glittering awards ceremony hosted by the association at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
Stepping forward to receive the winner’s cup for the mail order and internet company of the year accolade was Hannah Crook, founder of Supplement Solutions.
Recognised as the Oscars of the horse industry, the BETA awards are based on more than 5000 votes cast by the public for their favourite firms.
But there are more hurdles to clear for companies getting onto the awards short list, for judges also carry out a range of other investigations, including “secret shopper” tests.
Hannah, who is a keen rider and teacher, launched her business six years ago - and today her website - www.supplementsolutions.co.uk - lists over 3000 nutritional supplements to aid horse health.
“It’s fantastic to have taken the top prize in these awards, and we’re all absolutely thrilled,” she said.
“The best part is that the competition is based to a large extent on our standards of customer service - and this has always been one of our top priorities,” added Hannah.
