A HOST of organisations and charities set up shop for a special age well a one-stop roadshow.

The roadshow, held at Knott End Methodist Church Hall and organised by Kepplegate Care Services, was aimed at offering pensioners information and advice on a range of health and safety matters.

A number of partner agencies and charities, including Age UK, Lancashire Independent Living Service, Wyre Borough’s Care & Repair, were on hand to offer advice about energy efficiency, home improvement and safety and how to keep healthy within the home.

BBC Radio Lancashire presenter Sally Naden broadcast her show from the event and interviewed Kepplegate team leader, Lilia Higginson.

Local dignitaries attended the event and MP Eric Ollerenshaw, who was unable to attend, visited residents of Kepplegate Care Home the following day.

Kepplegate owner and manager Karen Shaw said: “This took a lot of organising, but we’re very pleased with how the day went and feel that people who called in all gained something from their visit.

“We might even look at making it an annual event!”
