Huge fire continues to gut building
Eight fire crews, including Preston, and two aerial ladders were called to Accrington Conservative Club on Cannon Street at 3.45am after callers alerted them to an orange glow coming from the top floor windows.
On arrival watch manager Garry Drinkwater said the building was “well-alight” and that the building was completely destroyed.

“Two neighbouring houses have been evacuated and the residents moved to the nearby Tesco.
“We’re treating the fire as suspicious at the moment and there will be an investigation once the blaze has been subdued.”
Fire crews were still attending to the blaze at 8am. More updates as we get them.
