Man attacked two officers

A man who assaulted two police officers has been fined 100.

Rucan Rennock, 18, New Rough Hey, Ingol, Preston, was also said to be drunk and disorderly. He was arrested in Whitby Avenue, Ingol.

Preston magistrates told him to pay 50 compensation, 15 to the victim surcharge fund and 45 costs.

A man who used threatening words or behaviour has been fined 50.

Jamie John Murphy, 19, of East Cliff, Preston, was also fined 25 for failing to answer bail. He must pay 15 to the victim surcharge fund.

No licence man banned

A Longridge man found driving without insurance and a licence has been banned for a year.

Imran Asghar, 27, of Mersey Street, was also fined 100, ordered to pay 15 compensation and 35 court costs after being convicted of driving on Preston Road, Grimsargh, without insurance.

He was fined a further 50 for a separate offence of driving without the correct licence.

Attacker must pay

Ribbleton man Luke Graham James Hendry has been ordered to pay 150 compensation to a man he admitted assaulting.

The 21-year-old, of New Hall Lane in Prston, was also fined 43 court costs after pleading guilty at Preston Magistrates Court.

Drug charge

A man was fined 60 for being in possession of cannabis.

Steven Dawson, 45, of Fishwick Parade, Preston, was ordered to pay 15 compensation and 25 court costs by Preston magistrates after admitting the offence.

Teen stole pricing gun

A Preston woman was fined 50 for stealing a shop's pricing gun.

Claire Millar, 18, of Floyer Street, Preston, admitted the theft when she appeared before Preston magistrates.

She was also ordered to pay 115 compensation and 15 prosecution costs.

No insurance leads to fine

A man was convicted of driving without insurance at Preston Magistrates Court.

Andrew Pearson, 42, of Westfield, Lostock Hall, near Preston, was fined 100 and ordered to pay 15 compensation.

His licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

Illegal driver is banned

A Preston man who drove without a valid licence or insurance was electronically tagged and banned from driving.

James Anthony Woods, 23, of Thompson Street, Ribbleton, Preston, admitted driving illegally in Robin Street, Ribbleton, when he appeared at Preston Magistrates Court.

Magistrates took eight penalty points into consideration and gave him credit for pleading guilty. He was put on a one month curfew.

A thief who stole a tracksuit has been fined 100 by magistrates.

Colin James McDonald, 48, of Rose Lane, Preston, stole the 45.99 Reebok tracksuit from Preston's Sportsworld store.

Ninety days for clothes thief

A man who breached a community order and stole baby clothing from a Preston store has been jailed.

Paul Anthony Froom, 34, of Hawthorne Road, Ribbleton, Preston, has been sent to prison for 90 days after stealing 35 of clothing from Toys R Us.

Theft woman is a no-show

A woman who stole alcohol and a shaving kit has been fined.

Nichola Jayne Gray, 22, of Muncaster Road, Preston, was fined 100.

She must also pay compensation of 15 to the victim surcharge fund and 70 costs.

She was fined a further 15 for failing to turn up at court.

Driver had taken drugs

A motorist found under the influence of drugs on a major Preston road has been banned for a year.

Joseph Vurley, 22, of Lovat Road, was also ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work as part of a six-month community order handed down to him by Preston magistrates.

He pleaded guilty to being unfit to drive when his Ford Escort was stopped on North Road in August this year.

Fine for rail fare dodger

A teenager caught on a train to Leyland without a valid ticket has been forced to pay 68.

Carl Knowles, 19, of Hazelhurst Lodge, Preston, was fined 20, ordered to pay 18 compensation and 30 court costs after being found without a ticket when he arrived at Preston station.

He was convicted in his absence at the city's magistrates court.

Phone thief admits guilt

A woman who admitted stealing two mobile phones has been ordered to pay a man 150 compensation.

Stephanie Kilbane, 19, of Dawson Walk, Preston, was also given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay 50 costs after pleading guilty at the city's magistrates court.
