A few of the pupils prepare for their presentation for Education Sunday.

The school was formed almost 300 years ago by the generous benefactor John Cross. As a Church of England school it has always been closely linked to St. Hilda’s.

Conducted by Fellside Vicar, Rev Stephen Cooper the service on January 25 centred on the history of the school with presentations by the pupils led by their teachers.

Incorporated into the service was a viewing of a lovely collage depicting the links of the school with the church and which will shortly be handed over to the former for permanent display. The collage is the latest of a number of creations made by the ‘Crafty Crew’, a talented and enthusiastic team of church ladies.

More than 75 members of the church congregation and families attended and enjoyed refreshments and a chat after the service.
