A man has been committed to prison for 18 weeks, suspended for 15 months, for drink driving. Patrick David Greeson, from Sanderson Lane, Heskin, pleaded guilty to driving in Bannister Lane, Eccleston, under the influence of alcohol. The 40-year-old will be electronically monitored under curfew for four weeks.

He must also pay an £80 victim surcharge, costs of £85, and a criminal courts charge of £150. He has been banned from driving for three years.

A 26-year-old has been committed to prison for nine weeks after a series of thefts.

Suli Marie Baliga, from Malden Street, Leyland, admitted to stealing more than £900 worth of cosmetics from Boots in Leyland on three separate occasions.

She was also handed an £80 victim surcharge, and a criminal courts charge of £180.

A 61-year-old has been fined £535 after she failed to give information to police about a driver alleged to have committed an offence. Helen Ann Eccles, from Fernleigh, Leyland, was found to be guilty. She must also pay a victim surcharge of £54, costs of £150, and saw six points added to her licence.

A man is under curfew after admitting being in the SITA Recycling Centre in Leyland with a screwdriver, ‘with intent to steal’. Gareth William Heaton, 47 From Hampson Avenue, Leyland, will be tagged for eight weeks.

A woman has been fined £200 after travelling without a £4.30 train ticket.

The case of Rachael Wilson, 26, from Clifton Avenue, Leyland, was proved in her absence.

She must also pay costs of £150, a victim surcharge of £20, and compensation of £4.30 to Northern Rail.

A man rode a motorcycle without insurance or licence, and caused damage to a fence panel in Carr Lane, Leyland. Gary Leonard Thompson, 27, from Bannister Drive, Leyland, admitted the offences, and eight points were added to his driving record. He was also fined £125 and ordered to pay £255 in costs.

A woman has confessed to breaking the 30mph speed limit in Golden Hill Lane in the town. Linsey Jane Bilsborough, 46, from Broadfield Drive had three points added to her licence, was fined £35 and made to pay £85 in costs.

A Chorley man must pay a total of £730 after pleading guilty to drink driving.

Ian Hamer, 51, from The Warings, Heskin, was fined £450, and must also pay a £45 victim surcharge, costs of £85, and a criminal courts charge of £150.

A 44-year-old has admitted to drunk and disorderly behaviour in Chorley. Gary Finlay, from The Martindales, Clayton-le-Woods, was fined £75, and handed a victim surcharge of £20 and a criminal courts charge of £150, discharged conditionally for 12 months.

A 22-year-old has been banned from driving for 18 months after driving under the influence of alcohol, crashing into a wall in Town Lane, Chorley, and failing to stop at the scene.

Kyle Lewis McDermott, from Wright Street, Chorley, was fined £110, and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and a £150 criminal courts charge.

A 19-year-old must pay up £485 after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis.

Harry Treadwell, from Preston Road, Coppull, was fined £200, and made to pay a £20 victim surcharge, court costs of £85, and a criminal courts charge of £180.

A man must carry out 60 hours of unpaid work after taking a car, drink driving, driving without insurance or licence, and failing to stop after an accident in Pall Mall, Chorley, in which damage was caused to another vehicle. The community order was placed against George Adrian Vasile, 23, from Walletts Road, Chorley, after he confessed. He has been banned from driving for 12 months, and must also pay a £150 criminal courts charge and a £60 victim surcharge.
