Lancashire fire crews called to early morning incidents

Firefighters were called out to two incidents in east Lancashire in the early hours of Saturday.

Two fire engines from Nelson and Colne attended a kitchen fire in a house on Whitehall Street in Nelson shortly after 4am. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.

Just before 6am, four fire engines from Darwen and Bolton attended a fire in a church on Bolton Road, Darwen.

Crews equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and two ventilation units to extinguish the fire and an investigation into the cause is underway.
