Lancashire Police arrest man in connection with burglaries across Preston

The man is from Preston and the arrest was made as part of Op Defender.

A man has been arrested following a spate of burglaries and attempted burglaries across Preston. The 51-year-old, who is from Preston, was arrested on suspicion of burglary in a dwelling and is currently being held in custody.

Lancashire Police were first called at around 4.30pm on Sunday (12th May, 2024) to a house in Fulwood following reports that a man had entered through an unlocked door.

They were later called to a property in Ashton-on-Ribble following similar reports. On both of those occasions, the man left when challenged and nothing was taken.

At 7.10pm, police were called to a house in Ingol to reports that a man had distracted the victim by asking for a glass of water.

Whilst distracted, a wallet was stolen from the house.
