A Preston law firm has been named among the UK’s best employers for a second year running.
Harrison Drury, which also has offices in Garstang, Clitheroe, Lancaster and Kendal, has made the prestigious Sunday Times list of the ‘Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For’ and this year has placed even higher.
The firm is ranked 37th in this year’s list which is compiled after an in-depth study of how good companies treat their employees. The company was ranked 38th last year when it entered the list for the first time.
John Chesworth, managing director of Harrison Drury, said: “We were so proud to make the list in 2016. We’ve been told that retaining your place in the top 100 is even harder than getting there, so we’re thrilled to have made it even higher up the list this year.
“We believe that if our employees feel valued and enjoy working at Harrison Drury they will look after our clients better. It’s how we continue growing as a business.”
The firm also has offices in Preston, Clitheroe and Lancaster.
The Best Companies survey examines company life and reveals how employees really perceive their working environment. The research looks at factors such as working conditions, company values, staff’s opinion of their managers and how valued they feel.
Harrison Drury also gained a three-star accreditation for employee engagement, the highest available, after receiving back 96 per cent of the surveys sent out to staff.
April-Jayne Barnes, human resources manager at Harrison Drury, said: “We’re showing people that they can have a challenging and rewarding legal career in the North West. We’ve got big plans this year and we’re hopeful we can make it three in a row next time.”
