A NEW exhibition has opened at Garstang Arts Centre Schoolroom showing the work of photographer John Barton.
The exhibition, entitled ‘Scottish Light - An exhibition of monochrome photography’ runs from this week until March 12.
John Barton says of his work: “My main interest is in photographing the natural landscape and smaller natural objects. I am drawn to the wilder landscape and the less populated areas. These areas can sometimes appear to have little natural attraction, but closer inspection often shows that even the most unpromising subject can reveal an unexpected power and beauty.
“The light plays a major part in this revelation and the light in the Scottish Highlands and Islands can be outstanding. It is this light which I have set out to depict in this exhibition.’’
