15 pictures of Preston restaurant The Pickled Goose before it reopens this weekend

A popular Preston pub that was forced to close last year is getting ready to reopen this weekend.

The Pickled Goose in Garstang Road, Barton closed its doors on November 22 last year after struggling with the escalating costs of gas and electricity.

The owners said they were left with ‘no alternative’ but said they hoped to reopen at some point in the future when the UK’s energy crisis ‘settles down’.

Reopening this Saturday (October 28), the pub will be serving up a tapas-style menu which can be washed down with an array of soft drinks, beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. Children will also have their own separate menu to choose from including the likes of a burger and chips and grilled chicken.

General Manager Jamie Hall said: We’re very excited to welcome you to our pub & restaurant, The Pickled Goose, opening on 28th October 2023.

“We have revitalised the pub to become a hub of the community, where you can pop in for a drink or a meal with family and friends to relax. The open bar is a great space for socialising and we have a fantastic range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.

"Our menu is to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace, tapas style, in that the food is served as and when it is ready rather than in a fixed order. This is great for sharing and tasting a variety of dishes, and allows you to take as little or as much time as you like enjoying the flavour of The Pickled Goose.”
